4. Noch einmal Sierra Leone: Peter Nduku war Waffenbeschaffer des derzeitigen Präsidenten Ahmed Kabbah und hat US-$ 36.000.000,00 zu verschieben. Auch hier bleiben 25 % bei mir kleben.

1. [X11:] I did not see a mention of this in the webcast, but Apple also appears to be moving X11 compatibility into the mainstream, with a »Public Beta« X11 release (41 MB download) and an X11 SDK. Code Poetry has a further look. The control panel does not look anything like XDarwin.
2. [Safari:] The interesting new Safari web browser uses open-source KHTML rendering engine from KDE, with some changes, which unfortunately means no MathML support for now. After a short time, I am totally impressed. Safari is amazingly fast, and so far, works fine while editing a Manila site such as this one. The text area has support for spelling just like OmniWeb (but no undo). Safari can natively display RTF files. And heck, I can even change font color on Zeldman's site.
   [Update:] the modified KHTML, lusciously wrapped in Objective-C adapters, is now available as the WebCore framework.
3. [iPhoto:] MacWorld Jobs keynote naturally brings about lots of news. On the software front, in spite of rumors to the contrary, it appears that the iPhoto and iMovie updates will be freely downloadable, with iDVD continuing as payware.

[Schöner surfen:] Codename »Safari« - Neuer Webbrowser von Apple. Apple veröffentlicht einen eigenen Web-Browser mit dem Namen Safari, der auf OpenSource Technologie basiert. Die englische Beta-Version ist ab heute als kostenloser 3 MB grosser Download erhältlich. Integriert ist ein Bug-Reporting für Darstellungsfehler von Webseiten direkt an Apple sowie eine Google-Suche.

Safari soll deutlich schneller sein als alle anderen Browser für OS X. Voraussetzung ist OS X 10.2 (Jaguar). [WebDEV]
