Und nun die dritte Update-Meldung des heutigen Tages

ffmpegX in neuer Version mit erweiterter H.264-Unterstützung. Das Video-Konvertierungstool ffmpegX (Shareware, US-$ 15) von Major ist der Version 0.0.9t erschienen. So wurde in der neuen Version die Unterstützung von H.264 ausgebaut, mit dem nun QuickTime 7 H.264 im- und exportiert werden kann. Und eine Verbesserte Tiger-Unterstützung wird ebenfalls versprochen.

Das Teil ist so etwas wie das Schweizer Taschenmesser der Videokonvertierung, manchmal etwas friemelig in der Bedienung, aber ungemein nützlich. [MacTechNews.de]

Trotz nahezu lückenloser O'Reilly-RSS-Totalüberwachung ist mir dies entgangen: Jack Herrington, Autor des Buches Podcasting Hacks aus dem O’Reilly-Verlag, gibt im Online-Magazin des Verlages interessante Ratschläge zum Thema Podcasting:Ten Tips for Improving Your Podcasts. »In this article, I'm going to do a little condensation of the content in the book and give you ten ways to improve your podcasts. There is no priority to their listing, though the first five tips cover some of the basics: getting a good microphone, proper microphone technique, show preparation, reducing noise, and formats; the latter five are more concerned with the content of your show. Ich glotz TV

Internet-TV goes OpenSource: DTV (Beta) ist eine neue OpenSource-Software für Internet-TV und Video, die nach dem Podcasting-Modell funktioniert: man kann RSS-Feeds mit Videoinhalten abonnieren bzw. mit dem integrierten Channel Guide nach Themen suchen. Ebenfalls integriert ist ein Bittorrent-Client, der für den Download hochauflösender Videos gedacht ist.

Broadcast Machine ist das Gegenstück zu DTV - ein PHP-Script, das dabei hilft, Videos auf einer Website zu veröffentlichen. Auch hier ist Bittorrent integriert, um Übertragungskosten beim »Senden« zu minimieren. [Mac Essentials - RSS20]

Hilfäähh, jetzt quatscht mich auch schon IBM voll

IBM springt auf Podcasting-Zug auf: Nun hat auch IBM angekündigt, künftig auf seiner Investoren-Website Podcasts zu aktuellen Themen anzubieten. Unter dem Titel »IBM und die Zukunft von ...« soll als erstes das Thema Autofahren behandelt werden. Betont wurde aber, daß es sich dabei nicht um Werbung handelt. Auch General Motors und Pepsi bieten bereits Podcasts auf ihren Firmen-Websites an. Haben die alle keinen Schrank zuhause? [futurezone.ORF.at]
